What weight are resistance bands equal to?

Question by nailpro: What weight are resistance bands equal to?
I am doing a work out and I just bought a 3-pack of resistance bands. You can add bands to get more resistance…but these band don’t have an equivalent to what weight they are? Is there a universal weight to color? Also, I have been using 5-10 lbs in dumbbells…should I just buy the higher weights or find a way to use the bands to get the higher weight instead?

They should tell you what pound “test” they are just like any fishing line or archery bow.

If you use dumbbells in addition to bands, you’re kind of defeating the purpose of the bands, to deliver a more comfortable and fluid contraction and extension of muscles.
