All About Treadmill Repair & Maintenance

Many people purchase treadmills in hopes of someday achieving their physical goals, but the machines quit working before they do. There are many problems treadmill owners may encounter with their machines, especially if they are avid exercisers. After a few months of hard running, they may need treadmill repair services for their machines

Treadmills are assembled from many parts, including electrical components, belts, and pulleys. Most owners do not want to repair their own machines; the task is just too complex, or they just don’t have the time. They prefer to hire a service provider to perform the treadmill repairs needed. In most cases, the owners return the machine to the retailer from which it was purchased or to the manufacturer. However, there are companies that specialize in repairing treadmills, and most can provide expert services for a lower price than the retailer or manufacturer.

Why would someone need treadmill repair services?

Many treadmill owners find after purchasing their treadmill that they use it less than they had planned. The treadmill sits in a corner of their home, gathering dust. Unfortunately, the treadmill’s inner mechanisms require lubrication to work properly and sitting unused for long periods of time can cause those oils to dry out. Once the treadmill is finally used again, the lubrication fails and the machine breaks down. Invariably, the owner is puzzled and frustrated that their treadmill would malfunction when it was used so rarely.

Other owners use their machines regularly and encounter different problems. The most common problems occur from wear and tear on the treadmill’s belts and pulleys. These are fairly inexpensive to replace, but average consumers don’t have the knowledge to complete the treadmill repairs on their own. Other parts are more costly and complicated to fix. Whether the task is simple or complicated, some treadmill owners just do not have the mechanical aptitude needed to perform the routine maintenance required to keep the machine in top working order. For these owners, a treadmill service provider would be helpful for performing their treadmill repairs.

How many treadmill parts could possibly need repair?

Treadmills have dozens of different parts, and each one can break down at a moment’s notice. The parts vary slightly depending on the model of treadmill and its capabilities, but generally include the following:

Treadmill belts – the belt on which the user walks
Treadmill decks – the hard surface under the treadmill belt
Drive motors – the motor that controls the treadmill belt’s movement. This part is very expensive but rarely requires treadmill repair.
Motor drive belts – it transfers power from the motor to the treadmill
Incline motors – powers the machine’s incline functionality
Rollers – the wheels on the bottom of the machine
Motor control boards – electronic board that controls the treadmill motor
Electrical parts – various boards and chips for use on control boards and panels
Consoles – that part of the machine with which the user interfaces
Wiring – the wires and connectors from the console and control boards to other parts
End caps – a protective cover placed over the end of the treadmill
Power boards – circuit board that directs electricity throughout the treadmill

The failure of any one of these parts could render a treadmill useless. In fact, many treadmills that have been sold are sitting unused in someone’s home today because a small part broke. Those owners would probably be surprised at the inexpensive cost a repair service would charge to fix their broken machines.

Where can a treadmill owner have their treadmill repaired?

Depending on the age of the treadmill, it may be still be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and can be returned to the factory or retailer from which it was purchased for repair. The owner may have to phone the manufacturer or retailer to learn of the nearest authorized facility. If the warranty period has expired, there are many third party treadmill repair services available.

One of the most reputable service centers is Treadmill Doctor. The experts at Treadmill Doctor are certified to repair all major treadmill brands and will provide an accurate quote to the owner before beginning any work. The company has a complete parts inventory and can ship the repaired treadmill anywhere in the US. Treadmill Doctor offers competitive pricing and can perform treadmill repair services at the customer’s location or at the company’s facility. Their website also offers helpful information on the regular maintenance of treadmills.

Many problems can arise in the life a treadmill, so that means owners should read the owner’s manual and perform the routine maintenance required to get the most use from their machines. Still, treadmills do wear out, so the owner should also keep the name of a service provider at hand for their treadmill repair needs.

Elliptical Machines are Very Effective in Bringing About Weight Loss

The very concept of elliptical exercise machines is to offer resistance as the feet and legs of the person using them move in the natural rhythm of a walk or a run while supporting the natural feel of the motion. Another reason why the elliptical exercise machines are more popular is that user can perform many exercises to the various part of the body within the same machine. All in all, elliptical exercise machines are not only great to work out at the gym with, but they are excellent to purchase for your homes also. If you are one of the many people who are overweight or even obese, elliptical exercise machines are a great way to get back in shape.

Elliptical Trainers

It is estimated that millions of Americans use elliptical trainers in their home gyms. Elliptical exercise machines are exercise machines that a person uses to simulate the walking or running motions of their legs and feet without moving in space and with minimal impact on the joints of the feet and legs. Elliptical exercise machines are advantageous because they are one of few types of home fitness equipment that offer a no/low impact workout. Elliptical Machines provide a full body workout with strength training and toning.

Home gym owners of any fitness level appreciate the low impact workouts and cardiovascular benefits of elliptical exercise machines. Some people compare the workout they get on elliptical exercise machines to pedaling on a stationary bike while standing up. The majority of elliptical exercise machines are equipped with upper handle bars that give users a truly total body workout. The best elliptical machines are, unsurprisingly, the more expensive ones.

Benefits of Elliptical Machines

If getting into shape and staying that way is on your agenda, don’t overlook the benefits of elliptical machines for helping you achieve your goal. The elliptical exercise machine offers many benefits over other more traditional forms of equipment. And for good reason: they provide many of the fitness, cardiovascular, and weight loss benefits of treadmills without the ‘wear and tear’ associated with running. Some Benefits of physical exercise with eliptical trainer are:

elliptical exercise machines are super fluid,

eliptical crosstrainers are very comfortable,

ellipticals are extremely effortless.

The benefits for your heart come from the fact that you are getting a total body workout and using many muscle groups. Weight bearing exercises like running, hiking and aerobics benefits the body in ways that non-weight bearing exercises like rowing and cycling cannot.

Cardiovascular Workouts

Whether you want to lose weight, firm up your body, or a combination of both, incorporating cardiovascular exercise into your workout routine is critical to your long-term success. Fitness experts agree that a weight-bearing workout is the best way to improve conditioning, increase bone density, strengthen muscles, and burn calories efficiently. When it comes to providing a great total body workout with a single machine, almost nothing can compare to working out on elliptical machines. The all over workout you get with elliptical cross trainers is well suited to many different fitness levels and it is easy to learn the proper techniques for using one.

Conclusion

Most people live busy lives and do not have several hours per day to devote to total body exercise, so an elliptical machine lets them get in a good workout in a minimal amount of time. Because most of these cross trainers work your upper body, elliptical exercise machines are beneficial in cardiovascular training and improving heart health. Ellipticals let you exercise your arms, chest, back and legs without putting a lot of stress on your joints. As you can see, elliptical exercise machines offer a large number of benefits over other types of fitness machines.

Weight bearing exercises such as strength training, jogging, running, and walking, can increase your body’s ability to function properly, stay healthy and reduce pain. Elliptical exercise machines are hard to beat when it comes to improving cardiovascular health. Find out more about Elliptical Machines and Weight Loss

All About Stability Balls

All About Stability Balls

The importance of core strength cannot be emphasized enough. Core strength focuses on the major muscles that helps stabilize and support all of the body movements including the back and the deep abdominal muscles. Having a strong core can help alleviate and prevent back pain. Additionally, since all the major muscle groups are exercised, the muscle tone, strength and endurance are also improved resulting in increased flexibility, stability and resistance. Strengthening the core also allows for better workouts and helps reduce the risk of injury.

A popular tool for core strength training is the stability ball. Also known as a physioball or a Swiss Ball, it was originally used in rehabilitation as early as the 1900′s. In the early 1960′s, Aquilino Cosani, an Italian toy maker, made the ball and sold it, known then as the Gymnastik. Two decades later, Cosani came up with a company called Gymnic and became the major supplier of the stability ball to most rehabilitation programs and centers. The ball then shifted from the rehabilitation to the athletic area in the 90′s. It was used to condition the body of professional athletes. Since then it has become very prominent in the fitness community.

Fitness experts say that using a stability ball is ne of the best ways to strengthen the abs and back and increase stability. Exercise balls challenge you by putting your body in an unstable position. When you lie on the ball, your legs and abs immediately contract to keep you from falling off. Add an exercise like a chest press or a crunch and you’ve just increased the intensity of the movement.

The stability ball can be used in many different ways including:

Weight training – the stability ball is used as a weight bench to add difficulty to the movements and incorporate the muscles of your legs, butt and abs.

Abdominal training – doing crunches, twists and other traditional exercises on the ball adds difficulty to the movement by recruiting more muscles. The abs and the back muscles are simultaneously moved as you work in your balance.

Sitting around – Just sitting on an exercise ball can be a challenge and it’s a great way to improve your posture when sitting in front of a computer or watching television. Practice by sitting on it and raising one foot off the ground and balancing.

Proper Alignment – Using the ball during training will test the body to make use of the different parts to maintain the proper balance. The dynamic movements during exercise will improve the natural motor reflexes of the body as by using muscles that aren’t usually used. The challenge posed by the ball is to maintain balance. As you try to gain the proper balance, the alignment of the body parts is also improved.

Weight Loss – With regular exercises and training with the stability ball, a person can lose some unwanted pounds as the body is firmed.

A great thing about using a stability ball is that the perception of working is reduced, especially for beginners. The ball gives some element of play and can make the training seem less like work. In addition, the ball can be used by anybody at any fitness level. It’a also portable, durable, lightweight and inexpensive compared to other exercise equipment.
