Question by ?c?rly,: What is the proper way to use an elliptical machine?
I am fourteen next week. I use my elliptical machine about 15-30 minutes about every other day. I just started this routine (before, I used it like once every two weeks) this week and my right knee bothers me when I kneel down, squat or get on my knees. I heard this is because I am not using the machine properly (my foot doesn’t move, but my heel goes up when my leg slides back.) Sooo, do you use it properly?
And my machine isn’t big. It’s actually pretty narrow and small.

I do the exact same thing and I’ve never had any problems with my body. I have pains from the treadmill though, but I do the same thing, I don’t think it’s bad.

I know that an elliptical machine works your leg muscles, but does it work your arm muscles as well? Will it tone them?

it mostly gives your arms something to do, the amount of exertion isnt significant enough to notice unless the person is starting out at 40% bodyfat.
the fat is lost from the whole body and if you do an elliptical for an hour a day every day you could lose 2lbs a week.

It will definitely help you lose weight as long as you’re watching what you eat. When I bought my elliptical machine, I was told that it helps you lose dress sizes. I went from a size10 to a 6 in about 5 months. It will help, just stick to it. Good luck!!!
